The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC) recently unveiled its 2023 nominees for Theatrical Excellence, with a notable mention of Edwin Lee Gibson for his outstanding portrayal in Fetch Clay, Make Man at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
Mr. Gibson, renowned Obie Award and SAG Award winner (The Bear), has been nominated for Best Lead Performance for his portrayal of Stepin Fetchit (the stage name for Lincoln Perry) in Will Power’s gripping drama, Fetch Clay, Make Man. This production, directed by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Debbie Allen, and presented by the Centre Theatre Group and LeBron James’ The SpringHill Company, mesmerized audiences during its 2023 run at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, California.
Upon receiving news of his nomination, Mr. Gibson expressed his gratitude, stating, "It's an immense honor to be recognized by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle for my work in 'Fetch Clay, Make Man.'
