It Comes as No Surprise That The Legends of Southern Hip Hop Perform at Sold-out Show in Atlanta, GA

The concert that has been thrilling hip hop fans since 2016, in Charlotte, NC; Jackson, MS; Little Rock, AZ; Nashville, TN; Jacksonville, FL and; Savannah, GA, touched down in Atlanta, GA this past Saturday! And, yes, the show was sold out!

Pastor Troy with his high-energy music opened up the highly anticipated show with some fan-faves and songs from his latest project, O.G.P.T, released the day before. The 2016 recipient of the Legends of ATL Award presented by BMI in recognition of his contributions to the Atlanta music scene never disappoints – and that was very evident as he rose to the bar that he set. With the show off to a phenomenal start, Trick Daddy, took the musical baton. His Fans everywhere have been enjoying his single, “Smooth Sailing”, dropped last Friday, from his upcoming album, TNT, with Trina. One concert fan ‘won’ a hundred dollars, from Trick, for having a picture of her child on her phone’s screensaver – all fans danced and sang along with the Miami-born rapper. His fans can also look forward to another venture – a restaurant that will be opening in Miami, FL in September. Of course, multi-platinum-selling "favorite rapper's favorite rapper", Scarface, served up several of his hits from his impressive discography. The veteran who has celebrated several charting projects and industry nods - I Am Hip Hop Award (2015 BET Hip Hop Awards) and Top 50 Lyricists of All Time (The Source, 2012)... just to name a few – showed attendees why he is one of hip-hop royalty.

Next up, Bun B!! Grammy-nominated Houston rapper, expertly handled the musical baton and kept the energy level, of the crowd, rising. Keeping the trend of new music being dropped by hip hop legends, in 2017, he released “Gametime” last month. Listen to it here. His next project is set to be released on August 29th. "I don't do this for the 'thanks'. I do this because it is what I am supposed to do", said billboard-charting and multi-platinum selling artist, Mystikal, to an industry insider after his set. And, that was quite obvious from the moment he burst onto the stage and captivated attendees through his setlist. True to their status, the pioneering duo, 8Ball & MJG, commanded the stage in a way that two friends who have known each other since middle school can - powerfully!! And, as with their peers earlier in the evening, the crowd responded with energy levels that could be felt all through the venue.

The icing on the well-baked cake - Juvenile!! The 40-year old shut the sold-out show down for the fans who seemed intent on staying through his last song. Attendees backed that thang up, screamed, and danced until the last lyric was belted out by this legend. The show also served as a birthday celebration for host, MC Lightfoot who, joyfully, shared the stage with his children.

“I put on these shows so that fans of good music can have a place to go down memory lane with some of their favorite artists. I am very pleased with this evening's concert."

- Jeremy HIll (Show promoter)
