Three-time Emmy Award Winning Journalist, Astrid Martinez Recognized as One of the 50 Most Influenti
Boldly walking her path, Astrid Martinez is highly respected by her peers and has received numerous accolades for her work in TV. Three years ago, she took a leap of faith and moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue her dreams and has been soaring since. As she continues to carve out her mark, in Atlanta, she carefully balances being a single mom to her 15 year-old daughter who she says "inspires me to be my absolute best" while keeping her Colombian roots front and center.

Despite her busy schedule, she's actively engaged in community efforts and regularly gives back such as 1) with the Bravos de Atlanta wherein former player Eddie Perez and her talked to some youth in early August; 2) with the EME Women’s Advisory Board which seeks to encourage Latina women to educate, mentor, elevate, and empower other Latina women; mentoring youth and; so much more. She also sponsored a child, 14 years ago, in Columbia, through an online program so that she could attend school and recently became the godmother to this young lady's first child. Anddddd, she finds time for self-care as she regularly works out.
This Emmy Award winning journalist and host of Astrid in ATL was recognized as one of 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on September 4th. The luncheon took place inside SunTrust Park in Atlanta, GA. As the host of Astrid in ATL, she focuses on culture and the booming movie and music industry in the city. The former Miss Colombia USA's passion for storytelling began in her native country of Colombia. After moving to the United States, Astrid and her family settled in New Jersey where she graduated with top honors with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a concentration in Latin American Studies. .
