TV One and CLEO TV, in partnership with Philo, presented a special REPRESENT cocktail reception during the 2019 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention on Saturday, August 10 at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa. Hosted by TV One/CLEO TV General Manager Michelle Rice with music provided by DJ Such N Such, the event honored Sarah Glover - the first two-term president in the history of the NABJ - with a Legacy of Service Award for her exemplary leadership, support and excellence in journalism. Top journalists and notable leaders from the media industry were also on hand to celebrate Glover's milestone achievement at the REPRESENT reception.
Rice was also a featured panelist on the NABJ's W.E.B. DUBOIS PLENARY PANEL "Intersection of Race, Culture and Entertainment." Moderated by Kelley Carter of ESPN's The Undefeated, the panel also featured Actor/Activist, Hill Harper; General Manager, Aspire TV Melissa Ingram; Movie Producer, Hadeel Reda; and 2019 Miss America, Nia Franklin. The panel centered on the impact of Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing," which debuted 30 years ago, and how African Americans are leveraging their power to influence the entertainment industry.

The film starred Meta Golding, Roger Guenveur Smith and Isaiah Washington, and chronicled civil rights leader Rosa Parks' role in launching the historical Montgomery Bus Boycott.
